NANO-BUBBLE – WHAT IS IT AND WHY DO WE NEED IT?

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you the concept of NANO­ BUBBLE technology. What is Nano-bubble-An air bubble the size of 10^-9 m is called a Nano-bubble. When a bubble of air is of such a tiny size it has certain properties that are very advantageous.

A normal bubble or coarse bubble = 1mm [dia]

A Nano-bubble = 10^-9m [dia]

FEATURES OF THEIR SMALL SIZE

   
  1. Their tiny size means they have neutral buoyancy therefore undergo neutral Brownian motion and hence survive in water for a longer time.

  1. The surface tension is far greater than a normal bubble and hence can withstand higher pressure.

  1. This surface tension also provides a mild cleansing effect to the insides of the transfer tubes.

  1. In case of Nano-bubble it is found that 1m^3 of water can contain up to 3 million Nano-bubbles. This enhances the oxygen quality of the water and encourages aquatic life.

While SBR Process is a tried and tested model for waste-water treatment we have over many years of R & D found some areas of improvement. It is a highly energy inefficient and also maintenance intensive. Switching to Nano-bubble will have an adverse impact on these shortcomings.

By substituting the Blowers with Nano-bubble generator wecan expect minimum 20% energy savings.

For 1 MLD capacity wewill be using a minimum of 3 blowers, 2 in continuous operation and 1 stand-by.

CONCLUSION

It is therefore evident that you can expect significant energy saving as well as reduced maintenance costs as the Nano-bubble generator consists of very minimal moving parts and hence is less susceptible to breakdown unlike an Air-blower.

To further enhance savings the treated water has some further uses.

1. Can be used as feed water in cooling towers for centralized HVAC Systems. Hence daily purchase of feed-water can be avoided and hence further savings may be achieved.

2. Nano-bubble aerated feed-water increases cooling tower efficiency and hence reduces water consumption and also chemical usage.

3. Nano-bubble aerated water is extremely beneficial to plant life.

4. It also reduces scaling and hence increases life of pipes and other fixtures.
